Clinical Staff

  • Nelian Creech RN, BA, CDCES, CFT (Lifestyle Coach)

    Ms. Creech has been a registered nurse for over 38 years. She has been a certified diabetes care and education specialist for over 30 years. She is a certified fitness trainer with certificates in Senior Fitness and Fitness & Nutrition. She is an ADCES Certified Lifecoach. She has a child who has had type 1 diabetes for over 45 years and is the widow of Dr. Robert H. Creech who had type 1 diabetes for 67 years.

  • Juliana Draper, RDN, LD, CDCES

    Mrs. Draper is a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist. She has worked in the field of diabetes awareness and education for over 20 years. She has lived with type 1 diabetes for over 40 years. She was voted by her peers as Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Alabama Dietetic Association. Mrs. Draper has been a preceptor for Oakwood University dietetic interns since 2017.

  • Minnie Newman PharmD, BCGP (Lifestyle Coach)

    Dr. Newman has been a pharmacist for 23 years with a concentration in retail pharmacy and long term care. She has contributed to diabetes education through DEAP (Diabetes Education Accredited Program) classroom instruction as an Auburn University student and resident preceptor and within the traditional workday setting. She is a CDC DPP (Diabetes Prevention Program) Lifestyle Coach and program coordinator.

  • Nadine Dowdie, MPH, RDN, LD (Lifestyle Coach)

    Mrs. Dowdie is a public health educator and dietitian with a multicultural background, and twenty seven years’ experience serving varied age groups. She has serviced private practices, various MD specialists offices, including endocrinologist along with endocrinologist fellows while attending to the needs of patients in diabetes clinics, doctors’ offices and in rural areas. Additionally, she has served as a preceptor of students, and interns during her career.

  • Lisa Dalrymple, Ph.D (Lifestyle Coach)

    Dr. Dalrymple has her bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology, and doctorate in food science, with a concentration in nutritional biochemistry. She has been an associate professor of biology and nutrition for the last 13 years. She is a certified Life Coach in Diabetes Prevention and currently earning a masters in public health with a concentration in nutrition.

In direct correlation with the 2022 National Standards for Diabetes, we want to focus on health equity and make diabetes prevention and education accessible to as many people as possible crossing as many cultural barriers as possible.

Dr. Robert H. Creech

Dr. Robert H. Creech triumphed over this type 1 diabetes for over 67 years.  At the age of 76, he passed away from an unrelated condition of diabetes.  Through his acts of healthy eating, exercise, and diabetes management skills- he CONQUERED diabetes!!!
